Ras Al Khor is a wetland sanctuary right within Dubai, at the mouth of the creek. It is an important stopover for migratory birds: in winter, thousands of pink flamingos gather here.
Observation hides with binoculars are set up for visitors, from where you can watch the birds without disturbing them. Entry is free, and the contrast of wildlife with skyscrapers on the horizon makes the place special.
