Until 24 November 2020 it was called Al Fahidi. The name changed under an RTA naming-rights agreement with the electronics retailer Sharaf DG; some signs and maps may still show the old name.

The Green Line, station code G25 — between Al Ghubaiba and BurJuman. It is not on the Red Line and does not serve the shop of the same name on Sheikh Zayed Road.
