The Consulate General serves the large Indian community in the UAE and is responsible for passport and related services for citizens of India, issuing Emergency Certificates for return, consular attestation of documents, matters of civil status registration, and OCI card services. At the same time, most routine operations, such as accepting applications for passports, visas, and OCI, are carried out not at the consulate itself but through the accredited operator BLS International, whose centres operate throughout Dubai and the northern emirates. Before visiting a BLS centre, it is recommended to book online and prepare a full set of documents.

Visas for entry to India are issued in two ways: for eligible categories, an electronic visa (e-Visa) is available, submitted entirely online on the official indianvisaonline portal, and for other types, a paper application with documents and payment is submitted in person at BLS centres. This is convenient for tourists and residents of the UAE, but the specific path depends on your citizenship and the purpose of the trip, so it is worth checking the requirements in advance.
