Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve

Coordinates: 24.83, 55.43

The largest desert reserve in the UAE — dunes, lakes, wildlife and eco-friendly recreation not far from Dubai.

Description

Al Marmoom is the UAE's largest unfenced desert reserve, covering hundreds of square kilometres to the south-east of Dubai. It is a protected area with dunes, artificial lakes and rich desert wildlife.

Unlike the noisy dunes with quad bikes, Al Marmoom is geared towards eco-friendly recreation: photo safaris, watching gazelles and birds, wellness retreats, starry skies and quiet walks. The popular Al Qudra cycle track runs nearby.

Tip: The focus here is eco-friendly recreation: photo safaris, wildlife and starry skies instead of noisy quad bikes.
